feeling uninspired?
some live performances of music i find inspiring, which i plan on coming back to whenever i feel uninspired. since i don’t drink alcohol or coffee or eat junk food, i often use music as a mood lifter.
i love Nina Simone. i admire how she’s dead serious and she tries hard to communicate with the audience to shake up and wake up the numb skulls
“Ces gens-la” pretty much means “those people”, it’s about idiotic narrow-minded mean people, incapable of taking a good honest look at themselves. it only takes one idiot to infect the life of many.

this site is full of live musical performances. they’re not playing on stage though, they’re walking down the street or playing in the bathroom (grizzly bear) or in the streets of Paris. the best ones i’ve seen so far would be scout niblett, sebastien tellier and arcade fire.

a skin too few: the days of nick drake
this is one of my favorite documentary about one of my favorite musician. it also introduced me to the amazing music of Nick Drake. During his life his music went pretty much unnoticed, people are finally starting to recognize his talent. my guess is that he wasn’t very good at marketing himself. and he had a hard time giving live performances which probably didn’t help. nonetheless, he made beautiful music and this is a very well-made documentary.
